I consider myself very lucky. From a young age, I knew advertising was the business for me. My dad owned an ad agency in St. Louis, Missouri; on the weekends he’d bring me to the office.
I remember walking around the empty halls, looking up at the print ads which seemed like billboards to me at the time, and being completely awestruck. Although the office would be empty, I could feel the energy of the place.
While I’m not single-minded in every facet of my life, the direction of my career has always been focused. My background is well rounded with experience in every aspect of strategy and planning. I eat, breath and sleep this stuff. Like the 10 year old in my dad’s office, I still get moved by great work and strive for the best.
Outside of the office, I try to fill my head with new things - art, food, books and music is usually what I usually drift to. I'm a jam band enthusiast, a drummer (yes I was in marching band in high school), and a new dad. Strategy demands a POV, and it’s hard to not fall into the same thinking if you’re not putting anything new into your head. There’s a lot out there for me to learn, so I’ll keep asking questions.
